Our History

Gospel Light Baptist Church is located at 268 Barker Road in New Vineyard, Maine. Our church was started in 2015 with six core members.

Our People

Our services generally run just over 100 people with a good mix of ages including some young, middle aged and elder families. Attendance can swing up or down during the summer months with visitors and church families being away for vacation.

Our Ministries

Our regular services include Sunday School, Sunday Morning, Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening. We have several, growing kids classes. For Sunday school we have classes for 2–5-year-olds, 6–12-year-olds as well as a class for teens. During the worship service we offer a Patch the Pirate club for 6–12-year-olds as well as a Peewee club for the littler 2–5-year-olds. There is also a nursery available for infants and toddlers. We offer youth group activities each month. We also have a homeschool co-op on-site with 70+ students and growing every year. We support several missionaries and have a special monthly outreach for Woodlands Senior Living Care Facility located in Farmington; along with a monthly ladies bible study and men’s prayer and bible study time.

Our Facilities

God has blessed us with a wonderful facility to include an auditorium that can seat 150, classrooms, kitchen and apartment for missionaries or visitors.

About the Area

New Vineyard is set in the heart of Maine’s western mountains and a bedroom community for the county seat of Farmington. We are centrally located to many recreational opportunities (Sugarloaf, Saddleback, Sandy River, Appalachian Trail, skiing, golf, hiking, fishing and more!). We are a small town (less than 1,000 population) with Farmington to the south via Route 27 and Kingfield (birthplace of the Stanley Steamer!) to the north via Route 27. Farmington is host to the University of Maine Farmington and has all the modern services (banking, movie theatre, park, shopping etc.).
